Germany, Poland, Georgia, & Turkey

Germany: Cold! Fun! We got to see Metropolis at the Weimar-era Kino Babylon in Berlin, accompanied by a live orchestral score.

Poland: Cold! I didn’t take as many photos here. Krakow is gorgeous; Warsaw has a really nice restored old town, but on this trip it just felt too… busy and hectic. I would spend more time in Krakow and other areas of the country.

Georgia: Cold! Delicious! Maybe go in the summer. I had gone in the summer before, and one of my favorite things about it was how lush and Mediterranean it felt. It just makes everything better. Of course, the food is amazing. Check out Salobie Bia in Tbilisi; get the tomato salad.

Turkey: You know the drill! Cappadocia was really beautiful in the winter, but the snow was a bit challenging to hike through, and winter weather can prevent hot air balloon launches (which isn’t what we were there to do, but it would’ve been cool to see).

We had a short stopover between Poland and Georgia in Kyiv, about a month before Russia invaded. We were sure it was all bluster.
